Feeling peckish...?

Anyone else a snacker?! Snacks are an essential part of my diet. I plan them throughout the day & I’m intentional about them. While I do believe in honoring hunger, I also believe in honoring the nutrition our bodies function best on.

What happens when we get home after a long day at work, having gone 4-5 hours without food? Ravenous hunger!! (me, after not eating for several hours!) Self control can be extremely difficult when we’re famished and/or exhausted. On top of that, our afternoon may have not been as productive due to decreasing energy levels, brain fog, and a mood affectionately known as “hangry”.

If including a snack into your day is something you’d like to work on, plan out a snack that has a bit of carbohydrate, protein, and fat. The combination will keep you satisfied and more satiated. I’m personally hooked on these Kodiak Bear Bites! I mixed some up in a s’mores inspired trail mix & made some bite sized s’mores just because they’re cute! Ps: Lily’s stevia sweetened chocolate chips are pretty awesome, too!
